It is obviously cut louder but sadly its like a badly mastered CD on noisy non filled vinyl requiring 3 get ups just to see the crappy mastering all the way through to the merciful end.
The new cut has a little extra width which i thought was good initially but theres no depth so.it actually sounds flatter the lomger you compare. With modern brighter carts with finer lines the advantage only grows in favour of the MOV. Whats weird is how the MOV (when equalised in volume to the new editions) sounds more dynamic, tonally believable and free of distortion on the peaks, retaining this quality all the way to the end of the sides EVEN with a humble Shure M75 elliptical cart of years gone by. It is much quieter and higher quality totally as expected from the respective plants.
